Brian C. Murray is a first-year doctoral student in choral conducting at the University of North Texas. Previously, he worked as a high school choir director in Carrollton, Texas for seven years. Murray received a Bachelor of Music degree in choral music education, summa cum laude, from the University of North Texas, studying under Dr. Alan McClung. Additionally, Murray holds a Master of Music Education degree in choral music from Florida State University where he studied with Dr. Judy Bowers, Dr. Kevin Fenton, and Dr. Andre Thomas.

Murray has presented interest sessions for TMEA, SWACDA, and the National Conference for MS/JH Choral Music. Additionally, he has published in ChorTeach and the Choral Journal. Murray has proudly served the Texas Music Educators Association as the vice president of Region 31, the vocal chair of Region 24, secretary of Region 24, and the facilities chair for the Vocal Division. He served ACDA as the co-manager for the 2017 National MS/JH Honor Choir. Murray is a frequent clinician, adjudicator, and guest clinician. His professional affiliations include ACDA, TMAA, TMEA, and Pi Kappa Lambda.

Murray and his wife, Allison, a middle school choral director in C-FB ISD, reside in Carrollton, Texas. In December of 2016, the Murrays welcomed their firstborn son, Weston Clark Murray. They are active members of the music and worship arts ministry at First Baptist Church of Carrollton, Texas.
